The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR) under Programme Rural Development, invites Unemployed Agricultural Graduates with a three-year diploma or degree in Agriculture who need practical hands-on experience to improve their chances of employment to apply for Agricultural Graduates Programme opportunities that currently exist in the DRDLR Provincial Offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn from project experiences
  • Analyse project/farm status
  • Develop project plans for 12 months
  • Work and liaise between DRDLR, Project owner and other stakeholders
  • Technical advice to projects
  • Research information
  • Report progress and feedback.

The successful candidates will participate in rural development projects in the following Agricultural fields:

District: Sedibeng – Reference Number: 3/2/1/2016/021

  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Animal Production) – 2 Posts
  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) – 2 Posts
  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics) – 1 Post

District: West Rand – Reference Number: 3/2/1/2016/022

  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) – 5 Posts

District: City of Tshwane – Reference Number: 3/2/1/2016/023

  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Animal Production) – 4 Posts
  • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) – 1 Post

Preference will be given to:

  1. Applicants who reside within the Local Municipalities and/or Districts where the positions are advertised.
  2. Animal Production – Poultry, Crop Production – vegetables including hydroponics, Agricultural Economics.

Notes:

  • Graduates will be deployed to the farms/projects and ideally should reside within the vicinity of those farms.
  • Remuneration: A stipend as guided by Government regulations shall be payable on a monthly basis.
