The generic minimum requirements applicable to all the posts are as follows:

  • Competency in the post-specific core functions
  • A Senior Certificate or at least an applicable completed SAQA-accredited NQF 4 qualification
  • Fluency in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English
  • South African citizenship
  • No criminal record or pending criminal/departmental or civil cases

  • Prioritise emergency calls
  • Answer general enquiries
  • Make calls and keep records of private calls
  • Compile reports from complaints visited by the emergency vehicle and handle complaints
  • Supervise members on shifts.

  • Ensure compliance with the PFMA.

How to Apply for South African Police Service Jobs 2014

Only the official application form, which will be available at all HRM Sections at Police Stations within Gauteng Province, will be accepted.

All instructions on the application form must be adhered to; failure to do so may result in the rejection of the application. The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application form . It will be preferred that candidates indicate the top 3 stations they wish to be placed at in order of priority. A separate application form must be submitted for each post applied for.

A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form.

Certified copies of an applicant’s ID document, motor vehicle driver’s licence (where applicable), all educational qualifications obtained together with academic records thereof and service certificates of previous employers, stating the occupation, must also be submitted and attached to every application. Applicants will be subjected to fingerprint screening.

Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded. All applications must be hand delivered to the address mentioned below. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.

Application forms must be hand delivered to Personnel Management, SAPS Provincial Head Office, Gauteng, Capt C Henning, 16 Empire Road, Parktown, Johannesburg. Applicants are requested to initial each and every page of the application form, CV and annexure.

The closing date for all applications is 24 January 2014.

Correspondence will be conducted with short-listed candidates only.
