The Western Cape Government is looking for keen, compassionate matriculants and recent graduates with great English and Maths marks to join the Year Beyond Volunteer Programme and help build the future with our youth. This is a gap year programme offering young people like yourself a one year opportunity to tutor on an after-school programme in some of the poorest primary or high schools in Cape Town while gaining a leadership qualification through Stellenbosch University. Participants will be provided with a stipend to cover transport and food costs.
Applications are welcome from young people between the ages of 18 and 25 years old who are passionate about making a change in their own lives and in broader society.
Are you eligible to apply?
If you’ve passed Matric and have good grades in English and Maths or Maths literacy, then you are eligible to apply. Graduates (Diploma, Degree, Honours etc.) from all fields of study are eligible to apply. Students who are taking the whole year off from their tertiary studies are also eligible to apply.
