South African Breweries (SAB), a brewing and bottling company, invites applications for a Packaging Learnership Programme at Phoenix Industrial Park, KZN.
The purpose of this Learnership is to provide an opportunity for 10 people from the LOCAL COMMUNITY to enrol for a National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging NQF level 3. They will enter into a fixed term, one year contract, with ABI KZN Manufacturing, during which they will undergo both on-the-job and theoretical learning, culminating in a National qualification.
A Learnership is a structured learning programme that combines off-the-job learning and on-the-job learning in an integrated programme. The off-the- job component covers more theoretical aspects of the learning with work-based learning providing the opportunity for application of the theory and the further practical learning experiences required.
Requirements
- Minimum Matric with an “E” pass (40% +) in both Mathematics (NOT Maths literacy) and Physical Sciences (NOT Life Sciences).
- A completed NTC 2 or NTC 3 (Mechanical or Electrical) will be advantageous.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo Literacy and Numeracy testing
Competence
- Be self-motivated/self-driven and be fit to work on a production line including climbing up onto machines.
- Have basic problem solving ability.
- Be able to pay attention to detail and work safely.
- Have the ability to interact and work well with others in teams.
