The generic minimum requirements applicable to all the posts are as follows:

  • Competency in the post-specific core functions
  • A Senior Certificate or at least an applicable completed SAQA-accredited NQF 4 qualification
  • Fluency in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English

How to Apply for South African Police Service Jobs 2014

Only the official application form, which will be available at all HRM Sections at Police Stations within Gauteng Province, will be accepted.

The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application form . It will be preferred that candidates indicate the top 3 stations they wish to be placed at in order of priority. A separate application form must be submitted for each post applied for.

A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form.

Certified copies of an applicant’s ID document, motor vehicle driver’s licence (where applicable), all educational qualifications obtained together with academic records thereof and service certificates of previous employers, stating the occupation, must also be submitted and attached to every application. Applicants will be subjected to fingerprint screening.

Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded.
