Open to Elkanah House pupils:

Academic Scholarship: open to boy/girl who demonstrates above average academic ability in the Elkanah House entrance exam.

Sport Scholarship: open to boy/girl who demonstrates above average ability in one of the team sports offered at Elkanah House.


Open to pupils not currently attending Elkanah House:

Academic Scholarship: open to boy/girl who demonstrates above average academic ability in the Elkanah House entrance exam.

Sport Scholarship: open to boy/girl who demonstrates above average ability in one of the team sports offered at Elkanah House.

Ganjo Scholarship: open to black, coloured and Asian child who demonstrates above average academic ability and or who displays exceptional talent in a subject/field offered in Elkanah House.

The Ganjo Scholarship was founded in 2007 to commemorate the memory of Ganjo Njokweni who died tragically in a skateboarding accident in 2007 shortly after joining Elkanah House High School. The Scholarship was initiated to provide an annual scholarship for a black, coloured or Asian student who may not otherwise have the chance to do so. Over the past five years, Elkanah House has awarded five Ganjo Scholarships to deserving individuals.

Elkanah House believes that the student community is enriched by a diverse student body. The Ganjo Scholarship seeks to redress the inequalities of South Africa’s past by awarding the top diversity scholarship candidate with the opportunity to experience a leading independent school – Elkanah House.

Cultural Scholarship: Elkanah House has established an enviable reputation as a school which celebrates the Arts. The High School offers a wide range of subjects for Matric including Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts, Dance, Design-Product, Design – Communication, Music-Instrumental and Music-Vocal. We are offering a Creative Arts Scholarship for entry into Grade 10 in 2014 to a student who has ability and potential in any one or more of these subjects. Candidates will be invited to an audition and interview. Candidates should submit a brief CV outlining their achievements and interests in the Arts. Academic ability will also be taken into account in the award of this Scholarship.

Under exceptional circumstances the Cultural Scholarship may be awarded to an internal candidate.
