KZN Dept of Health Offers Nurse Training Programme 2015/2016: Training Jobs for Nurses in South Africa

Applications are invited for nurse training for the year 2015 / 2016 Diploma in Nursing (general, psychiatric, community) and midwifery. The training will take place over a period of  4 years.

Minimum Requirements (PRE 2008)

  • Grade 12 (Std 10) – Minimum 25 points
  • English: Minimum symbol “E” Higher grade or “D” Standard Grade
  • Biology or any other natural science subject “E” Higher Grade or “D” Standard Grade

Symbols  & Points

  • A – HG = 8 & SG = 5
  • B – HG = 7 & SG = 4
  • C – HG = 6 & SG = 3
  • D – HG = 5 & SG = 2
  • E – HG = 4 & SG = 1
  • F – HG = 1 & SG = 0

Minimum Requirements (From 2008)

  • National Senior Certificate: Degree / Diploma
  • Minimum: 25 points
  • English L4
  • Additional language
  • Life Orientation L4;
  • Maths L3  / Maths Literacy.-L4;
  • Life Sciences / Physical Science – L3
  • And any other 2 subjects from the designated list

NB Life orientation (LO) will not be scored

The points will be calculated as follows:

  •       90% – 100% (8 Points) – (KZNCS APM Calculation Adjusted)
  • 7 – 80% – 89% (7 Points) –  (KZNCS APM Calculation Adjusted)
  • 6 – 70% – 79% (6 Points)
  • 5 – 60% – 69% (5 Points)
  • 4 – 50% – 59% (4 Points)
  • 3 – 40% – 49% (3 Points)
  • 2 – 30% – 39% (2 Points)
  • 1 – 0% – 29% (1 Point)

  14. Since I was a little girl, I was very passionate about nursing , due to lack of finance after I matriculated in 2002 I couldn’t study for being a nurse(health worker) if I can get that chance now I will make sure to grab it with my both hands as I have community best interest at heart.
