Transnet Freight Rail is looking for a Trainee Traction Linesman in Groblershoop to be trained over a period of plus minus 24 months in Overhead Track Equipment maintenance functions including Train Working Rules in order to obtain the necessary skills to become a Traction Lineman.After successful completion of all required training at a Transnet Freight Rail Training College, including Train Working Rules, successful applicants will be appointed as Traction Lineman and will be responsible for the following outputs:
- Safety of sub-ordinates
- Coach and guide team members
- Issue daily reports/time sheets
- Issue work permits
- Complete Overhead Track Equipment construction/projects
- Overhead Track Equipment correctly maintained
Requirements / Eligibility Criteria:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science
- A Certificate in Train Working Rules as applicable to Infrastructure personnel
- Be literate commensurate with at least ABET Level 4
- Not be acrophobia
- Not be claustrophobia
- Comply with depth perception criteria

- Comply with visual acuity and colour perception tests
